The iFi NEO iDSD 3 is a high-resolution desktop DAC and headphone amplifier launched in early 2026 as the third generation of the NEO series. It is designed as an "all-in-one" hub for home audio, acting as a DAC, preamplifier, and powerful headphone driver.
Key Performance Highlights
- Massive Power: It delivers a peak output of 5,551mW (2,532mW RMS) at 32 ohms, which is 5 times the power of the original NEO iDSD and 18 times that of the ZEN DAC 3. This allows it to drive even the most demanding planar magnetic headphones with ease.
- Lossless Wireless: It features Bluetooth 5.4 with support for aptX Lossless, providing CD-quality audio over a wireless connection that is virtually indistinguishable from a wired one.
- Refined Audio Tech: Includes JVCKENWOOD's K2HD Technology, which restores harmonic detail often lost in digital recordings to provide a more natural and musical sound.
The NEO iDSD 3 uses a custom DAC stage built around a Burr-Brown chipset, hand-picked for its natural musicality. This distinctive architecture handles PCM and DSD via separate pathways, preserving a bit-perfect signal throughout the conversion process. Data handling is carefully managed to ensure natural dynamics and exceptional low-level linearity.
