KLH Model 5 VS Wharfedale Linton

As you know, we are fans of the Anniversary Wharfedale Linton and their matching stands. KLH has now released a retro speaker in the Model 5, we will have this in stock by Mid April and we will let you know how it compares to the Linton.

Can't wait to hear the comparison! I've had the Lintons for a year but am very excited to hear the Model 5s.

I've also had the Linton's for a year. They keep on amazing me. But as they are the cheapest element in my chain, I do wonder what the next level up could bring. Judging from the reviews, the Model 5's are in similar SQ style. So I'm very curious.

The set we had in-stock and unpacked on Saturday sold yesterday to a client who traded back his Linton's.

We are supposed to get another set if the courier behaves this Friday. They are fun like the Linton's but have a more HiFi sound at the same time. If you liked the Linton's you will love the Model Five's :)

An overall more refined speaker especially in the highs and mid-range and keeps up if not better than the Linton's in lower registers. The paper cone drivers assist with an efficient and tight sounding speaker that is extremely musical and fun.

If you are local to Vernon or the surrounding area please stop in for a listen.

Thanks for the detailed feedback regarding the first tests.
That sounds promising. For some reason the Zero Fidelity review of the Model 5s made me pay attention, even though I was not looking for other speakers. The same happened when I read reviews on the Lintons in 2019.

I would love to come to your store. But unfortunately I no longer live in the Vancouver area. I moved back to Europe in '89 and I am living in Luxembourg now. A country smaller than the greater Vancouver area.

But I found a dealer in Brussels and will go and have a listen there.

Is there any truth to the rumour that the Model 5s are a limited series?

Do you know if the walnut version of the Model 5s will come with the lighter linen grills? The photos appear to only show them with this grill instead of the courser grill that comes with the mahogany version.

The KLH Model 5 is arguably the most refined of the vintage inspired speakers released the past couple years (JBL L100, Wharfedale Linton etc)

Yes, but the Model 5 is $699 more at $2499 pair vs Clinton's $1799. Big difference in cost choosing the Model 5. Heard the Linton. Choosing one will depend on your listening room and components powering the speakers.
